A distributed scheme to detect wormhole attacks in mobile wireless sensor networks

    Get PDF
Due to mostly being unattended, sensor nodes become open to physical attacks such as wormhole attack, which is our focus in this paper. Various solutions are proposed for wormhole attacks in sensor networks, but only a few of them take mobility of sensor nodes into account. We propose a distributed wormhole detection scheme for mobile wireless sensor networks in which mobility of sensor nodes is utilized to estimate two network features (i.e. network node density, standard deviation in network node density) through using neighboring information in a local manner. Wormhole attack is detected via observing anomalies in the neighbor nodes’ behaviors based on the estimated network features and the neighboring information. We analyze the performance of proposed scheme via simulations. The results show that our scheme achieves a detection rate up to 100% with very small false positive rate (at most 1.5%) if the system parameters are chosen accordingly. Moreover, our solution requires neither additional hardware nor tight clock synchronization which are both costly for sensor networks

İkinci bölüm on eleştiri başlığından oluşmaktadır. Çalışma sonundaki değerlendirme kısmında eleştirilerin mahiyetleri irdelenip, filozofların farklı bakış açılarının felsefi sistemlerini ne kadar etkilediği ortaya çıkarılacaktır.The aim of this study is to indicate the criticism that Ibn Rusd directed to Ibn Sina in his work “Tefsiru Ma Ba’de’t- Tabia” , which is a work in the field of metaphysics. During the research of the thesis, Ibn Rusd and his philosophic system, Aristoteles and his ideas in metaphysics, Ibn Sina and his philosophic system are examined. According to the information acquired at the end of the research, the subjects of the criticism which Ibn Rusd directed to Ibn Sina are determined. Aristoteles’ philosophic thinking system will be accepted as a base and the correctness of the criticism directed to Ibn Sina by Ibn Rusd will be evaluated. This study is composed of two parts. The first part aims to learn about Aristoteles and his philosophy and in the second part, the subjects of the criticism are presented as titles. The second part contains ten titles of criticism. In the last evaluation part, the characteristics of the criticism will be examined and how different philosophic views affect philosophic systems will be clear

Multifetal Pregnancy Following Emergency Contraceptive Pill Containing Levonorgestrel: Case Report

    No full text
Contraceptives, used for prevention of unwanted pregnancy after an unprotected sexual intercourse, have been in use for more than 20 years. With their high efficiency and fewer side effects, drugs containing 750 Mg levonorgestrel are the most commonly used forms of hormonal postcoital contraceptives. The effective mechanisms of emergency contraceptive drugs that contain Levonorgestrel include delayed tubal transport of the ovum. Delayed tubal transport after fertilization has been considered one of the etiological factors in formation of multifetal pregnancies. In this report, a case with intrauterine twin pregnancy after use of emergency postcoital contraceptive containing levonorgestrel has been presented and the issue has been discussed in the light of the relevant literature

Delta formation at the southern entrance of Istanbul Strait (Marmara sea, Turkey): a new interpretation based on high-resolution seismic stratigraphy

    No full text
A detailed stratigraphic investigation based on high-resolution seismic profiles revealed that the delta at the southern entrance of the Istanbul Strait consists of three parasequence sets. The lowermost parasequence shows a sea-level stillstand at the beginning of the lowstand systems tract, possibly at 11,000 +/- 1,100 a b.p., whereas the upper two parasequences reflect deposition at lowstand and during the subsequent transgression. A maximum flooding surface may be developing on the delta at present. The delta is located on the eastern side of the Istanbul Strait canyon, with east-west prograding parasequences. The development of the delta is clearly associated with the Kurbagali Stream on the east coast, and not with the Black Sea outflow through the strait. The geometry of the delta indicates a radial architecture arranged from northeast to southwest

Design of an RFID-based manufacturing monitoring and analysis system

    No full text
Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology has become an important driver in the production and logistics activities of today's information-based industries and economies. With the innovative developments in information and communication technologies, companies focus more on how these changes can be implemented and promoted in order to improve their value-added processes. This paper presents one such implementation approach for the monitoring and analysis of a discrete manufacturing environment using the RFID technology. Our aim is to bridge the gap between the physical flow of materials on the shop floor and manufacturing information and execution systems by allowing a rapid development and deployment of an RFID-based manufacturing automation solution
